For years, I avoided painting due to a tactile sensitivity that made wet media feel overwhelming, especially on my palms. I stayed within the comfort zone of dry media, afraid to go further.

But this artwork marks the moment everything changed. It captures the vulnerable but empowering transition of embracing the very thing I once resisted — water. The swirling waves, the partially submerged face, and the dreamcatcher above all speak to the journey of surrendering, adapting, and pushing past limitations.
