Ravages of Life is a layered mixed media piece that tells a story of personal evolution, a journey marked by struggle, self-reflection and ultimately, transformation. This work is built on three emotional stages that shaped who I am today.

The first phase reflects pain and challenge, moments in life that test you and leave behind lessons etched into memory. The second speaks of letting go: of people, pressures and voices that try to overwrite your truth. And the third is where growth happens, where all the chaos, conflict and clarity finally mold you into yourself.

The textures, symbols and contrasts in this piece reflect the emotional weight of that journey. I chose mixed media because no single material could hold the complexity of these experience - the messiness, the beauty and the change.

This artwork is not just personal, it’s universal. Ravages of Life stands for resilience, identity and the quiet strength that comes from surviving your own becoming.
