Six Foot Underneath

Title: Six Foot Underneath
Medium: Mixed Media (Acrylic and Paper)
Dimensions: 12’’ x 16½’’ inches

Six Foot Underneath is a vertical composition that dives deep into the emotional cost of being silenced, misunderstood, and emotionally bruised. Through mixed media techniques: acrylic paint layered with delicate paper flowers and transparent elements. I’ve explored the lasting impact of bullying and how unseen pain can bury a person emotionally.

At the heart of this piece is a haunting face, partially veiled by translucent white paper. This veil symbolizes the emotional blindness of those who hurt others, those who laugh while throwing words that wound. They often never see the damage they cause.

The missing portion of the skull represents a loss of self, of protection like armor shattered over time by repeated pain. This isn’t just a figure in a painting, it’s a symbol of silent suffering, a person who’s been metaphorically buried under years of fear, humiliation and neglect.

This artwork is not just a reflection of despair but a bold reminder to recognize the hidden struggles behind people’s silence and to never underestimate the power words hold.
